Kayu Coffee Factory was established in 1964 and rests on a 7-acre piece of land serving Kayu, Njumbi, Rwathia, and Mihuti villages. 1191 smallholder producers bring their harvest the the Kayu washing station to create this banger. Big sweetness. Big body. Big aromatic notes of citrus and flowers. The bold acidity contrasts a molasses-like caramelization, and what you get is one of our favorite Kenyan coffees we've had in years. (Even if Kayu is an unfortunate sound-a-like of Caillou, the most annoying PBS Kids show ever)
