Hacienda La Esmeralda was founded by the Peterson family. Esmeralda is renowned worldwide for the discovery of Geisha varietal in Panama. In 2004, Esmeralda won the Best of Panama Competition with their Geisha for the first time. Their Geisha is famous for the delicate floral notes and extraordinary complexity. Esmeralda has won multiple awards throughout the years. In 2025, Esmeralda made history by winning all three categories—Washed Geisha, Natural Geisha, and Varietal—at the Best of Panama, setting record auction prices of $30,240/kg for Washed Geisha and $23,607/kg for Natural Geisha. Lot: Lino 5WB Lino 5WB was harvested on February 6th, 2025 from the Lino lot in Hacienda La Esermalda s Canal Verdes farm. After harvest, the coffee was repulsed, fermented for 72 hours, washed, and slow-dried for 17 days on raised beds.
