Ethiopia Chelchele Natural Filter - Single Origin. Situated in the highlands of the Gedeb district, in Ethiopia’s Gedeo Zone, Chelchele is celebrated for its fertile red-brown soils and ideal coffee-growing conditions at elevations from 1,900 to 2,100 metres. The Chelchele processing site, named for the local village, sits at 2,000 metres and features extensive infrastructure, including 14 fermentation tanks and up to 150 drying beds to carefully process both washed and natural coffees. Here, coffee trees are intercropped with enset, beans, and avocado, sustaining traditional agroecological practices. A dedicated warehouse on site further supports meticulous dry preparation and quality control, ensuring Chelchele’s reputation for producing distinctive, specialty lots.
