Founded by Swiss entrepreneurs Luca Costa, Fridolin Stocker, and Yanik Costa, the farm is a model of modern, sustainable coffee production in Africa. Grown under ideal conditions and with full traceability from seed to cup, Mount Sunzu’s coffee (particularly its Starmaya variety) is carefully cultivated using climate-smart practices and solar-powered irrigation that reduces water use by 35%. While their approach is highly technical, their values remain deeply human. The founders have prioritised social impact from the start—creating over 120 fair-wage jobs, offering healthcare and pensions, and building infrastructure such as roads that benefit the wider community. With over 600 hectares of land dedicated to forest conservation and a growing outgrower program to support local fa
