Rurima Estate, a 15-hectare farm in Embu, Kenya, is renowned for producing exceptional AA-grade coffee. Nestled at 1,800m on the slopes of Mt. Kenya, the estate benefits from nutrient-rich volcanic soil and a cool climate. Established in the 1960s by the Ndogo family’s patriarch, Rurima, the estate is now managed collaboratively by his descendants, including Lucy Wanja Ndogo. Each family member tends their own parcel but delivers coffee to the estate's wet mill for processing. In the 1980s, the family invested in an onsite wet mill, enabling them to oversee the entire coffee production process—from farming to sale. This hands-on approach has ensured top-quality coffee and higher prices at market. Located in Kenya’s fertile Embu County, Rurima reflects a deep-rooted legacy of coffee farming and dedication to quality. Their independent processing and attention to detail exemplify the family’s commitment to excellence and the region’s agricultural traditions. Tasting Notes: PLUM,
