Nestled in Rwanda’s Western Province at 1,700 metres above sea level, this coffee comes from a cooperative that began humbly with a small washing station loan in 2009. By 2010, Kageyo had already made a name for itself—processing 67 tons of cherries and placing 2nd in Rwanda’s Cup of Excellence. After some early challenges, including a difficult harvest in 2012, Kageyo found its stride through a partnership with the Rwandan Trading Company (RTC) in 2013. Since then, production, quality, and recognition have flourished. Today, under RTC’s stewardship, Kageyo has become a benchmark for high-quality Rwandan coffee.
