The coffee is grown in Muje Village, located 17 km from Adola town, where 1,980 smallholder farmers cultivate coffee in their backyards before delivering their harvest to the Muje Mesina washing station, situated along the Awata River. Ethiopian coffee production is inherently organic, with landrace varieties adapting naturally to the environment. Farmers rely on organic fertilisers and natural pest control, preserving both soil health and biodiversity.
