Originally part of a large Hacienda in Trujillo, the estate was gradually sold off over decades. The Herrera brothers, having left Colombia in the 1970s to study engineering, returned in 1998 with a bold vision—to rebuild their grandfather’s coffee legacy and redefine Colombian coffee on the world stage. Today, their farm operates more like a fine winery, where varietals are selected for flavour expression rather than disease resistance, and processing methods are meticulously refined to bring out the best in each harvest.
