Hario Switch

Temperature
94°C (201°F)
Ratio
1:16 (15g coffee : 240g water)
Grind
1Zpresso J: ~30 clicks (medium-fine; texture like coarse table salt)
Grind Adjustment

if sour: grind finer (+2–4 clicks) and/or raise temp 1–3°C; if bitter: grind coarser (−2–4 clicks) and/or shorten steep by 15–30s

Brewing Steps
  1. 1. Bloom with 30g water for 30s
  2. 2. Pour to 240g by 0:45 (steady pour); stir gently once at ~0:50 to ensure full saturation
  3. 3. Close lid and let steep until 3:30, then flip the Hario Switch to drain; aim to finish draining by ~4:15
  4. 4. Total time ~4:15. Serve immediately. Enjoy the orange-chocolate sweetness; rinse the Switch after use.
Pro Tips
  • 💡 Use full immersion to emphasize the sweet orange and chocolate notes — steady pouring and one gentle stir are enough.
  • 💡 Consistency with grind clicks, water temp and timing is the key; small adjustments to grind (±2–4 clicks) will tune acidity vs bitterness.
Troubleshooting

Sour → Grind finer by 2–4 clicks, increase temperature 1–3°C, or extend immersion by 15–30s. Bitter → Grind coarser by 2–4 clicks, shorten immersion by 15–30s, or lower temperature 1–3°C.
