Timor-Leste's road to independence (achieved in 2002) was long traumatic. The people suffered some of the worst atrocities of modern times in their struggle for self-determination.  We are privileged to have access to this stunning direct-trade coffee from Timor-Leste.  Wayne the owner of the Wholemeal Cafe in Takaka, has established trade relationships with the villagers of Moubissi Maulau, in order to help the people of Timor-Leste rebuild their economic independence. With tasting notes of molasses, ripe plum, and dark chocolate, it offers a syrupy mouthfeel and a satisfying finish.
