Brewing Steps
  1. 1. Bloom with 30g water for 30 seconds (pulse to fully saturate grounds)
  2. 2. Pour to 150g by 1:15 — steady, even pour in short pulses; gently stir at 1:15 for ~5 seconds to de-gas and equalize
  3. 3. Pour to 225g by 1:45, let steep undisturbed until 2:15, then flip the Hario Switch to drain (drawdown ~20–30s)
  4. 4. Total time ~2:45–3:00. Serve immediately.

  • 💡 Use the Switch to get full immersion control — aim for ~2:15 immersion before switching to highlight the chocolate/vanilla sweetness.
  • 💡 Key factor is even saturation during bloom and consistent pour rate; for decaf, small grind or temp tweaks (±1–2°C, ±2 clicks) make big flavor differences.
Troubleshooting

Sour → Grind slightly finer (−2–3 clicks), raise temp to 94–95°C, or extend immersion 15–30s. Bitter → Grind coarser (+2–3 clicks), lower temp to 90–92°C, or shorten steep/drawdown.
