The factory sits at 1,800 masl on the rich volcanic soils of Mt. Kenya’s southern slopes. Here, ideal rainfall and cool mountain temperatures create the perfect environment for producing coffees with unmatched clarity and complexity. The farmers’ cherries are processed with fresh water from the Nyamindi River. After pulping, the coffee undergoes overnight fermentation, followed by careful soaking and hand washing before being dried on raised beds for 7 to 15 days. Every step is geared toward bringing out the distinctive sweetness and sparkling acidity that Kenyan coffees are known for.
